SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Responsible Consumption and Production – Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
TRU models sustainability through zero-waste initiatives, sustainable procurement and education that encourages mindful consumption and responsible resource use. As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship, TRU aspires to be a global leader in zero-waste, demonstrating alternatives to the common linear “take, make, waste” paradigm by advancing circular systems of “reduce, reuse, repair.”
Guided by the TRU Zero Waste Plan (2022–2027), the university is working toward 95 per cent diversion from landfill, creating a campus that leads by example in sustainability innovation and action.
