Event Security
Risk and Safety Services is available to assist you with event security, emergency planning, responsible use of space, and health and safety.
All events are subject to a risk assessment, and if an event presents additional risk or increased liability to TRU, you may be required to have security at your event or have participants sign a waiver.
Risk and Safety Services can work with you to determine whether additional measures are required and connect you with the appropriate resources.
Examples of events that may be subject to a risk assessment or require security are:
- Events with liquor service
- Events with sensitive or controversial topics
- Events where crowd control may be necessary such as music events, sporting competitions, etc.

Request Security
- Submit a request to uos@tru.ca that includes a description of the event including activities, date, time, location, expected attendance and perceived security concerns.
- Someone from Risk and Safety Services will be in touch to discuss your request.
*NOTE: Please note that Paladin Security is not able to physically remove guests from an event. They can provide a presence and on-site support should issues arise.
*Any additional security hired for an event is at the cost of the event organizer.
